RockWatch Invitational - July 15th, 2005

RockWatch Invitational ~ ~ ~ The event took place on a Friday night with seven acts on the main stage and a number of additional performers in the side bar area at Star Central in the NE area of Mpls, MN. The evening began early with additional bands setting up merch tables for this industry night event. Which included Filthy Divine, Five Ounces, Likwid Blu, Drones, Pillowfist along with a number of others giving away sample CD's and networking among the crowd and bands. TC Muzique was on hand video taping segments for a DVD. Area 52 hosted an open mic acoustic addition in the side stage area. A good size crowd mix arrived early for the first half of the show. Kelly Moore of TC Muzique hosted and introduced each band with Carl of Jistoray opening up with a bright solo acoustic set. Second Class Citizen brought forth more of the high spirits of an acoustic evening. Gabriel and thee Apocalypse was up playing a rather sharp acoustic set as they are in search of a bass player for their full band performance. Sick of Sarah is a band in formation that brought some sparkle and extra motion to the early part of the evening. There's the raw energy acoustic blend of Abisha and Katie and the beat edge of Brooke on drums and Jesse on bass. There is not alot of space here to elaborate on the performance of the bands on both stages. Yet, those that were there saw first hand the talents of the bands and looked to enjoy the overall event format.
