Day two brought out another mix
of bands for the Mpls Mayhem Metal Fest at Star Central in
the NE Mpls area of the Twin Cities here in Minnesota. A saturday where
John McGovern,
Roadie Ron and both Gregs at sound and lighting were hard at work
keeping day two on track. Twin Cities based Necromis was up early and
heavy for this Metal Fest with their CD 'ScarBurns'. Two of the
younger bands out on day two were Winterthrall and
Post Mortom looking to have a great time as they delivered their metal
goods for the crowd.
Winterthrall with Elizabeth on guitar were here on their first trip out
of California with a 4 song CD called 'Autumn Caskets'. Post Mortom
were heavy on the big stage and came out from Nevada with Avenger of
Blood. Out solid with some old school thrash metal were Summon with 6
albums
from 1995 to 2003 and The Chasm with 8 albums from 1993 to 2004.
Avenger of Blood were up strong with Eric at vocals and guitar with a
recent album called 'Complete Annihilation'. The crowd became even more
so
active to rally on the metal as Hirax and Sadus closed out the night.
Alot of action on stage with Katon on vocals as Hirax rocks heavy as an
entertaining metal force. Out since 1984 with their recent album being
'The New Age of Terror'. No photos were allowed for the Sadus set, yet
the crowd dug into the impact of this metal machine. Within the crowd
there was a short attempt by a fan to surf the crowd during the Sadus
set. Some
of the vendors and sponsors at the event included Twin Cities own Earl
Root of Rootofallevil.com and Decker of Nightfallrecords.com
along with Sickidiots.com, Winterguitars.com and Nocturnaldominion.com.
Some of the bands from both days will likely have some photos and
comments up from this Metal Fest event at their websites. Overall, the
event went rather well and the bands most likely found a number of new
fans with this metal fest at Star Central. Watch for next years dates
and lineup as this metal fest may be even larger.
