This was an evening where BBM&E Productions brought out a group of bands for an event that is somewhat new for the mid-sized venue known as Star Central located in NE Mpl. A hard edged mix of strengh and appealing performance with the big name touring bands 'Hed P.E.' from California and 'Dry Kill Logic' from New York along with power house 'Index Case' from Iowa and the entertainment action of Twin Cities based 'Nuisance Crew'.
The general atmosphere as I walked into the club was one of anticipation and high hopes that the scene fans would be out in numbers for this one. All looked primed for a heavy evening which did bring out around  500  for this event .
The crowd was up thick and energetic as the night kicked into gear with the hard hitting performance of 'Nuisance Crew'.  No  doubt about it,  their  song 'Migrate' is popular with the fans and their entire set of material flows and hits the crowd  with a hardy good time dose to shake up ones five senses. Vince the lead singer knows how to work the crowd and pull them into the show. Everyone seemed well charged up for the next three bands.
Fans of 'Index Case' most often get to see them on the big stage at First Avenue where the towering singer Joe Ansley has lots of room to work the stage. He seemed a little cramped here on this smaller stage and yet well delivered the goods for the fans. They bring to the table the songs 'Listen', 'Sincere' and 'Eubiquitous' from their recent album 'The Weak and the Wounded' which must be doing well with fans where ever they play. Both  bands 'Index Case' and  'Nuisance Crew' work with Midwest Movement and True Player Entertainment where one will find a video by each band along with others.
Those that have not seen 'Dry Kill Logic' before were soon in for a hard hitting spin of energy in the form of Cliff Rigano on vocals and Jason Bozzi on guitar. With Dry Kill Logic there's no sleep for 'The Dead and Dreaming'  which is the name of their recent album as they tour out gathering new fans at each show with their hardcore metal brand of rage and rebellion. A hard edged 'Paper Tiger' gathering in the 'Lost' souls of the hardcore metal pit crowd. Perhaps they will find their way into Ozz Fest or other big events in the coming summer months.
There's no rest for the wicked as ' Hed P.E. ' takes control of the stage and the night .  P.E. stands for Planet Earth and in some circles Planetary Evolution. Here we find the singer Jahred up bold and in command as he spins the evenings hardcore event with their mix of hip-hop, punk and metal that has been coined as G-punk. A show with powerful lyrics and social commentary within the songs and between songs as Jahred does bombard the crowd with some valid food for thought. It appears they are out on tour with some new members that include Moke on drums (formerly with Otep) and Jaxon on guitar. They're out touring heavy to promote their new album 'Only in Amerika' which looks like it could be a big hit with fans. From here they work their way to the east coast and fans will need to check out their website to see where they'll be with the coming summer months.
