It seemed like this cd was never coming out. All the Dayfeed fans anxiously waiting for the arrival and on May 20th, 2005 Dayfeed finally had their cd release show. All the hard work and money, definitely has paid off with the release of Beauty in the Breakdown. It's the first release by Dayfeed. They recorded at world record productions with Matt Kirkwold who also adds the back up vocals. The recording of this cd was well worth the amount of money spent. Probably one of the best recorded local bands that have come out in a while. Five of the best tracks the band has are really shown by this record. "Don't Stop", there is just no getting around Marsh's guitar in the beginning of the song. And Rocky's tribal like drumming adds a lot of good things. "Permanent Disguise", first thing I thought of when I heard this song is Malmberg vibrato is incredible, just makes this song sound really cool. "Better Way", Chad just kicks everybody's ass when the bass come into play in this song. Trust me, take a listen and you'll understand. "Unknown Promise", kind of the main slower, harmonic, radio-friendly song on the record. Good lyrics, good song. "Trust in You", by far the best song to rock out to. Everytime I hear this song I see Marsh live on stage tapping the neck of his guitar as he does in the building up part of the song. Very energetic, hard-hitting. And damn does Rocky hit those drums hard. "Beauty in the Breakdown", probably the most powerful song on the cd is the title track, "Beauty in the breakdown." Every time I heard this song live it would make me tear up, it's definitely a good song people can relate to and attach themselves with. In the beginning it sounds like Malmberg is't quite up to the microphone, which gives it a soft but amazing sound and then it all come in and gets even better. This is definitely a great cd, I highly recommend picking it up at a Dayfeed show or online at www.dayfeed.com
