The Music Makers : Hook Echo
Ryan Gilbert, Justin Koch, Cory Swap

The CD : Six song EP - 2002

The Songs :

1 : Reno  3:20

2 : Disgraced  3:44

3 : Stillborn  3:23

4 : Rubber Band  3:43

5 : Lady Bender  2:50

6 : Pane  3:43

The 'Hook Echo' songs flow with stand out lyric lines, guitar-bass hooks and a street wise echo within the vocals. Six songs on this CD with 'Reno' breaking loose with a guitar stride and vocal drive to draw one into their music right off the get go. A pop-metal encounter with Reno, Nevada.

Softer guitar and vocals start off 'Disgraced' which may well be their most popular song with stand out lines  "shame on you now. . ." Wrestling thoughts on actions of rising to the top, stacking the deck - a rather appealing song.

'Stillborn' opens and closes with "right now". You're eased into the
core of the song - "Its not the way you go about it. . ." and what do you make of the line "take it like a man and swallow". The vocals in 'Rubber Band' do stretch and bend as the song unfolds. With 'Pane' there is plenty of hook and echo to take the ear and mind for a ride "outside my window . . ."

All the songs have a quick flowing stride and all are under four minutes
in length. A good six song listen where any of them could find radio play somewhere.

Impressions :
A downtown stroll between the streets of heavy metal and pop rock.

Rating : Four rocks to the wind with three echoes of metal.
