With
this Five Ounces album one will find a progressive hard rock sequence
of songs with sharp edges and heavy hitting vocals, guitar, bass lines
and percussion. A number of twists and turns along the classic 70's and
80's rock arena. Recorded at A440 studios in Mpls with clever art
work and a number of photos inside making for a well rounded seven
track album.
The first song, 'What the Hell' opens to carve out a good sense of
their talents and the direction of the album. They reach out and
pull you into their music even more so with 'We Want to Move
You'. If you're not yet moved by their music, you may very well
be reeled in with the song 'Degradation' that clocks in at just
over five minutes with the vocal range of Lori and the ease in guitar
work that grows well to embrace the lyrics. A change of pace with some
snap breaks in with the song 'Indecision'. Then, you are hit hard with
an intricate paced track to hook your rock senses as the song
'Shouldn't Matter' brings out a number of change ups with guitar and
bass and a flowing range of vocals. Take another gasping breath
as you take in 'Fade' which rolls in with softer
vocals and holds steady as the vocals of Lori high ride the
instrumental flow. Tracks three, five and six are the songs
that will likely attract the most interest and draw to the music of
Five Ounces.
