Review:  This band is defiantly an up and coming act. After playing small shows and venues Voodou opened up for Godhead, Gravity Kills, and Pigface in Nov 2001 at the Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte NC... Two months after their performance Martin Atkins signs Voodou to Invisible Records for a debut release in July 23, 2002. At this point I think this band had only been around for about a year and a half…that’s amazing that Martin would but so much out on the line for a band that no one had heard of if you ask me.

They use heavy guitar riffs backed up by some moody but danceable beats and crisp vocals. The front women Michelle is an astounding performer, as well as an strong writer. One of my favorite tracks of this album would have to be “ doomsday”. Not only does Chris Connelly  do vocals on it but the main chorus is “stop this murder- every day everything gets harder- step right on up- the circus has begun- now take your cut- stop this torture- every day everything gets shorter- step right on up- the circus has begun- now take your cut”. How fun is that?

This is defiantly a good cd to pick up if you are looking for some new female fronted industrial that is not poppy  yet is not overly bitchy or depressing with a weird sexual tone. I would also highly recommend this album to any one who enjoys bands such as snake river conspiracy, meg lee, curve, nocturne, or 12 rounds.

Review : Ok you may be asking, why is this person doing a review of a cd that has under 5 tracks on it and is over 12 years old? Because I need to spread the plague of wild babies speeding down the road in a pick up truck cranking this cd. Trust me, you have not experienced the truth of this cd until you saddle up in the rusty pick up truck screaming along with dust flying up in the air behind you getting your pours all cloggy…I also highly suggest having a cowboy hat on as well while you are doing this.

This band is time was composed of people such as Chris Connelly, (pigface, damage manual) Alien Jourgensen ,(Ministry) Trent Reznor, (Nine inch Nails) Martin Atkins, (pigface, rx) Willian Rieflin, Paul Barker and many more. Plus the mixes of this song is hilarious because for about 30 sec. of it they are raping and after that to seal the deal with this cd they do a cover of  “Public Image”. Yes I know finding this cd may be a little hard…but it was just re-released, and that is what the internet is for, right?
