Review :  This came out last year and for a short two or three months there this got played on the radio ( Radio K) yet no one really seems to talk about it anymore. This is a shame because this is a great album that should not be so short lived. It has such artist on it as Pj Harvey, Al Hohannes, O’Connor, Joey C, Twiggy, Joshua Homme and many others. So this was basically a super group of great musicians that came together for the recording of this album.

“There will never be a better time” is an unsettling acoustic melodic song leaded by Polly whaling away with Chris Goss. She says such things as if I could change , change everything, if I could change my name in order to forgive, ohh there’s never been a better time, there will never be a greater time, I may look for god and loose my way…”Then the next song that really stands out to me is “Powder wig Machine”  also leaded my Polly. This kind of snaps you back in to the world after the previous few songs with a nice little light rolling drum beat with guitars, a bass, and a lot of other people backing her up. I really like how gritty and unpolished these recordings are. They stayed so true and close to there original form you can tell. And as John Waters would say…”the first take is the only real take”.

Over all this is a fun, yet dramatic and cache cd… I would advise picking it up if you are a true music lover.

Review :   Do you like all the w’s in the titles of the tracks? Ehh? This cd was just released to the public on the 22 of June. I find this interesting being that I had to go to five different cd shops to pick it up. After trying to find some one that was carrying it a week in a half latter I finally got it at a over priced corporate shop out in the suburbs. I hope some one finds this amusing as much as I do, being that last year they headed 93x’s shows, and you can find all of the other bands that played that show at just about any local shop. I guess Ministry is just different.

As for the cd it self I am very happy with the result. They put a bunch of sound clips ( and yes about half of them where from the president …like one of the clips they use of him saying “I have a message for the people of Iraq, go home and die”) from random people particularly in the one track titled TV. This is a funny song about how some one stole the remote control from Jourgensen and now how he can’t get the voices out of his head.  Another one that I have found my self listing to over and over again would be “ Warp City” . They start it out by an older southern man telling a story about a women who took to drinking, this reminded me a lot of  “ a mind is  a terrible thing to taste” and every ones favorite album of there’s…that has Jesus built my hotrod on it. The vocal tracks are speeded up as well threw out this one…more so then normal, yet it still has the fun vox-y affect that Jourgensen always uses. And yes to answer your question now if it is better then there last two albums…I can say it is.

Also there is a lot of hidden little goodies on this cd as well, for one of the more obvious ones there is not one, but two hidden tracks at the end of the cd. There is also some hidden little messages in one of the songs that they say in the background that aren’t printed in the lyrics. The art work for the bands name on this cd also shows the M in ministry in a circle to make it look like the Anarchy cymbal you see,  the Y at the end of their name is also in a circle with a line between the top part of the y to demonstrate an upside down peace sign. Then if you take a good look in at the inlay of the spread sheet under the casing of the cd you will find some words  in to the far left and right hand side where it is flipped up for the facing on the other side…taking apart jewel cases is easy kids…don’t be afraid to do it…you will find a lot of hidden things on some of your cd’s that I bet you didn’t know were there. I even know of a record label that prints the same inlet on the other side of the paper that’s underneath the jewel case of the back  spread out, without the bar code on it.
