Review :
This
local four piece band from up north helps clean off some of the dirt I have on
my rose tinted glasses. They are a great example of a new generation of young
rockers that got there stuff together musically as well as emotionally… no
matter the emotion Melanie has a great way of presenting it in her stage
performance as well on record.
This album was just released a little over a month
ago and they only made about 100 copies I think, so I strongly advise that you
order your copy today before it has a bar code on the back. The art work is this
really cool modern colored cutout of random people in the city eating, riding
bikes, falling off trains and being slapped. It also gets a plus one with me to
for having all the lyrics printed in side.
“Vacation” was a cute punkish cover of the Go Gos .One of the tracks that
stick out to me the most is “xoxo”. She say’s “Do you know I only sleep when I
know you will be in my dreams? Do you know how it feels to miss something that
was never real?” For some reason this has really stuck with me as well as
Memento Mori and the Downfall of the Airbag Safety. Most of the songs feel like
the vocalist is constantly trying to relate to an absent person. However at the
end of it all if you listen closely it is just her way of putting closure on the
situation in her own way.
