In the Quest Ascot Room with Intendo and EyeNine
|
Early on a saturday, late afternoon in downtown Mpls at the Quest Ascot
room there be four bands up to play their brand of metal. Which
included 'Intendo', 'Eye Nine', 'Rivkit' and 'Satanic Ballerinas'. For
those that have not been to Ascot room in awhile - there have been a
few visable changes. The Greek like bronze statues are now in the back
corner on either side of a new small bar and the windows now have a
stained glass appearance. The ever popular fountain remains near
center in the back of the room. A fair size crowd gathered for this
event.
The early crowd got a look at 'Satanic Ballerinas' which
certainly in name alone generates curiosity. Word has it that they are
a rather heavy and dark band with a new website taking shape. With
'Eyenine' we see a rather new band mixing in with the local metal
scene. Within the local scene mix they come across with a heavy sound
along the lines of 'R-evolution' and 'Banehinge'. They don't have a
website at this time so scene fans will need to watch for their
upcoming shows. With 'Intendo' we found them up heavy with new hand
crafted guitars at this show as they played material from their CD
'Guns of August'. Heavy and driving with Tim Murphy being the frontman
for the 'Intendo' sound. Yes, you can help make 'Intendo' famous by
checking out their website, CD and live shows.
