July 23 at Station 4, was West Memphis Three's National Awareness Day. Many
cities and countries around the world raised money and helped spread the
word about the West Memphis Three. Auto Toxin, from St. Francis, kicked
off the night with their high energy sound. In between the sets, a PSA
was played, in which Damien, Jessie and Jason thanked everyone for
coming out to the benefit. The atmosphere was changed by the message
inspiring people to realize the importance of their support. Emcee,
Robert Jeske of Downside of Truth, took the stage welcoming everyone who
came out. After Likwid Blu's introduction they tore up the stage with
their unique sound. The last song of the set, they dedicated "The
Others" to the West Memphis Three. Then T-Shirts donated by the bands,
along with West Memphis Three merchandise was handed out. Thoughtcloud
kept the vibe going strong to the end of the night. One of the magical
moments was everyone singing along with the cover of "Rockin' in the
Free World. " Thanks to everyone who was involved, the benefit raised
over $ 500.00 for the West Memphis Three Defense and Commissary
Funds.
