Found my way to the Main Event on this saturday to see the band 'Epicurean' work the stage. They are a six member dark metal band which should not be confused with black metal or death metal. Where one will find keyboards and two guitars providing the core metal edge with vocals, percussion and bass bringing forth additional impact and depth of execution with a notable layered aggression that is 'Epicurean'. On drums is John Gensmer who is the founding member of the band and is among the best drummers in the Twin Cities metal scene. The 2004 band members have come together now with John Major on guitar, Angelia on bass, John Laramy on vocals and Jared Schreider on keyboards along with the recent return of Jake Bullard on guitar. Those new to the band will quickly notice the metal maiden stance of Angelia and the very long hair John Major on guitar.  They played material from their recent CD titled 'V.II R.VI' along with some newer songs. It sounds like they had a great time on tour to the east coast in Sept and will likely be seen out playing with the new year.
