On the Jungle Red is kind of like a tin hut or a double-wide smack dab
in the middle of downtown Minneapolis. During the day, it serves
as beauty salon, tanning booth, massage parlor and hair extender launch
pad. Saturday night, March 25, 2006 it played host to the
traveling Dutchman fun show. Dm (Dutchman) for those of you who don't know (what rock have you been hiding under?) is the affable, whacky MC host with RockWatch. Tonight he is hosting some music acts and a vintage lingerie fashion show. From the outside, the Red is unusually impressive tonight, with tiki torches lit and limousines arriving in the flickering lights and smoke. Their precious cargo disembarks amid much fanfare. Said cargo is vintage lingerie models cavorting and strutting into the spotlights adorned in historic undies unveiled for the eclectic crowd. "Let me introduce you to my future X wives", quips Dutch. He continues, "these girls are perfect tens. I never had a perfect ten but I’ve had five twos!" The Dutchman's quips continue to flow as quickly as the beer and wine amongst the diverse audience. Dutch introduces a few music acts who prove as varied and interesting as the crowd. Jungle Red is a wild spot and a good place to Rock Watch and pick up some sneak peaks. - - DAVID R GULLICKSON Yes, it was a enjoyable mix of art work, music and lingerie in a cocktail party atmosphere. The art on the walls included the works of Tim Schools, Ron Galambos and Adam Roussopoulos. The music included the soulful R&B of Donavee Chappell along with well rocked acoustic sets by Tim Schools and Shawn Beauville. Shawn Beauville came up from Tampa Florida where his band The Beauvilles is doing rather well. Tim Schools has been going to Florida every month where he spends time jamming with musicians which includes working with Shawn Beauville. At this evenings show at Jungle Red they played individual sets along with playing a few songs together. The lingerie was well displayed and mingled with the crowd upon models well suited for the vintage garments which were brought together by TC Vintage Lingerie.
