A rock showcase on a Friday night in the Red Sea Green Room brought together 'Esuna' , 'Likwid Blu' and a rather new band called 'Last Ditch Effort'. It was a short walk from the parking ramp across the street and there is also a parking lot back behind the Red Sea.
A night on the west bank along Cedar Ave has a number of possibilities with a string of restaurants, bars and clubs with the Red Sea Green Room being a good part of the mix for scene fans.
Arrived in time for live music in progress and some good conversation about the Battle of the Bands event that has been going on in the Green Room on Sundays. Don't know much about the band 'Last Ditch Effort' but did notice there was one song that stood out. It looks like a good time Friday night was in order for 'Likwid Blu' and their fans as the band is playing out with a temp bass player. Not a bad situation, for they came across well in the Green Room and their fans are rather fond of the song 'Echoes' along with the progress of the band. This may be the first time 'Esuna' has played the Red Sea and took well to the club and the fan mix. A five member progressive rock band with a twist of energy driving forward with the vocals of Jeremy as they shape and define their soundscape and performance approach. The drummer was with the band 'Subnormal' and there was at lease one other former member in the crowd along with Brian of 'Seconds Before'. Jeremy did comment after the show on how it all went over better than expected, sound wise along with the crowd size and interest in the music. An all around good time Friday night for those that dropped in for some live original music; be they there for the entire showcase of bands or dropped in as part of their nightlife activities.
