A Four Band Good Time Battle
at The Rock Night Club

It be Thursday and a nice warm evening for a good time battle with a grand four band show. This would be the finals of the 93x Fest Battle of the Bands where the winner would play the opening slot at 93x Fest. The four bands that made for a great lineup were Ginger Jake, Down and Above, Smilin Liar and Banehinge. There was some speculation among the crowd on who may win the battle. Some were curious or even concern that there may be a dark horse with Ginger Jake who could perhaps walk away with a overwelming performance. Others were firmly certain that the battle was between Banehinge and Smilin Liar. Yet, everyone knew that the crisp talent of Down and Above could not be overlooked. Who would win?
Ginger Jake as a newcomer to the scene provided an eye and ear full of alternative heavy performance which most certainly delighted many in the crowd. Watch for more from them. Down and Above left their stamp of excellence on the stage and the crowd knew they saw a great set as most have grown to expect and admire. Smilin Liar has developed a strong following with a growing song list which places their music and performance among the best in town. Banehinge with their musical depth and heart pumping energy presented a great closing performance to cap off the evening. The crowd came out on top with this great line up. And, if you didn't know or guessed who the winner was - - they be Down and Above.
