A Saturday evening at The Rock in Maplewood,
MN. brought out two aggresive younger metal bands. The five
member band called 'Vain' and the six member band called 'Less Than
Nothing'. Both bands have a progressive heavy hitting metal approach
with keyboards or samples or turntable to bring forth additional depth
and edge to
their brand of metal. Vain is Jon on vocals, Joe on bass, Mike on
guitar, Martin on keys and Joe on drums. Vain is always up heavy with
their album titled 'Through the Eyes Bleeds the Soul'. One will find
the vocals of Jon leading the impact of their full stage performance
along with the high energy guitar and bass work with well placed key
board action. Sounds like they are working on a EP of new material.
Less Than
Nothing is Reet on vocals, Justin on bass, Jerome on keys, Jef and Gill
on guitars and Tony on drums. They have a more so heavy hard core edge
with the vocals of Reet and dual guitar action along with the
heavy bass bounce of Justin and the keyboard turntable action. That
makes for six members in action with an aggressive set of material.
Both bands should be of interest to the younger alternative metal crowd
and bring forth an entertaining high energy performance.
