On a Friday night, RockWatch and the Rock night club in Maplewood,
Minnesota brought together an acoustic showcase featuring five
bands. Brian David from the band Murge, the bands Valhalla Drive,
Thought Cloud, Illusive and Niobium. This was a lounge like layed back
presentation of their material which differs from their normal hard
rock concert type shows. With an acoustic show there is a more so
melodic flow as the guitars and vocals blend together for a soft
flowing presentation. Where as, in a hard rock show it's all about hard
hitting energy where the guitars and vocals compete and engage together
to bring forth a high energy performance. These are all excellent bands
playing around the Twin Cites area. Thought Cloud may not be playing
out much as some members are envolved in a separate band called The
Quills. Brain David is in full throttle mode with his solo project and
can be seen playing most every week and will likely have his solo album
out in the near future.
