Black Flood Diesel and Staija
at The Rock Night Club
|
|
|
This Saturday night show of local original bands featured 'Black Flood
Diesel', 'Staija' and 'Bleeding the Sick'. Sometimes the opening band
has a disadvantage as the crowd may tend to filter in during the
opening set and the sound and lighting may not be fully tuned in for
the show. Did not make it in time to see 'Bleeding the Sick', but they
are certainly gearing up for 2004. Arrived with 'Staija'on stage
looking good and working the crowd well. A five man band where each
displays their own look, stance and action on stage to draw focus about
the stage as they present their material.
They have a three song EP out called 'A New Energy'. Looks like they
have two newer songs - 'Oblivious' and 'Blurred'. At one point Tony on
guitar took to providing additional drum action which struck a change
of pace chord with the crowd. Earlier this year fans were drawn to
their song 'Halo' and now they have additional energy to draw in new
fans. B.F.D. or 'Black Flood Diesel' closed out the night with a
driving force that struck the closing bell of this show in stride . For
those that have not seen them, seek out a listen to some of their
music such as the songs 'Human Torch', 'Lost Cause', 'Northern Cold'
and their earlier popular song 'Fountain of Youth'. This was a good
warm up show for their upcoming First Avenue Main Stage show in early
January.
