It was an evening to see what was up on a new band night at Star
Central. Here digging into the underground and finding metal. I was
able to catch the first two bands on this wednesday night. The first
band ' Mircalla ' was out playing their very first live show.
There may have been a little nervous edge with their first performance
and the sound mix may not of been exactly in tune with their style of
music. A style that is certainly metal and somewhat
operatic yet with a softer vocal flow. It was a shorter 35 min set as
Katie on vocals delivered the lyrics with a soft steady pace as the
guitar, bass and percussion worked the edges and brought forth a metal
curious sound for the crowd. The band members are Aaron on guitar,
Jared on Bass, Chris on guitar, Curt on Drums and Katie on vocals.
There were a good number of metal fans in the crowd including members
of the bands ' Aesma Daeva ' and ' Cold Colours '. It is easy to sense
that they may progress forward with a deeper atmospheric performance
with their future shows.
The metal became richer as the old school true metal band ' Paroxysm '
took to stage. A four member band with metal straight forward from
start to finish. Often fast paced and driving hard with the roar
and guitar riffs that the metal crowd can dig into. A rather new band
with Nick on vocals-guitar, Kraden on guitar, Andy on bass and Chris on
drums. One will likely find these bands out playing with other metal
bands yet may appear with some of the hardcore heavy rock bands where
there is often a cross mix crowd out for anything with high energy and
hard edged for a good time. There was a nice size crowd out with
the end of winter around the corner.
Neither band has a website at this time.
