Gingerjake - Banehinge - Odium
and In the Morning at Star Central

A rather good size crowd came out for this Friday night show at Star Central with some hardy support for the local original bands playing the stage at this music venue. Here we had 'In the Morning' and 'Odium' opening for the heavy hitting 'Banehinge' and 'Gingerjake'.  Arrived in time to see some of the action of 'Odium' and the sets of 'Banehinge' and 'Gingerjake'.

Banehinge
With 'Banehinge' the crowd got a full stage of action from five members that bring together a hard core blend of metal. After recently playing the Main Event in Fridley and the 93X battle of the bands at the Rock during the month of May with their new drummer Albert Born they were now primed for a solid show at the Star Central. Bringing to stage some of their older songs along with the newer material. The song 'Finger Boy' does rise the depth of music for the room with the guitar and vocals that well capture the 'Banehinge' sound. There is a lot of action on bass with Chris as he doesn't stand still for long while Jason provides additional guitar and vocals and Al presents his crisp percussion to add to the work of veterans Chad on guitar and Jon with vocals.  The new line-up is striving to stir up a following to a larger metal crowd with newer songs 'Stay Hyde' and 'Lemmings' as well as looking to play outside of the Twin Cities.

Gingerjake
Gingerjake : Eric up working the crowd
Gingerjake
Amanda and the guys that are Gingerjake took on the Star Central stage with a robust energetic performance. Kris, Ian, Eric and Joe bring their individual musical talents and performance edge together well to enhance the impact of the power pop vocals of Amanda. The songs 'Karats', 'Waiting' and 'Grey on Blue' may best underscore the appeal and fan draw for the band. They recently played the outdoor event called RiverFest and are working on a DVD due out perhaps by Fall of this year. Their fan base is likely to grow as Amanda and the band continue to reach out and play the scene.

Note : 'In the Morning' were giving out  a three song CD to introduce their music to possible new fans and 'Odium'  brought a heavy slice of Iowa to the Twin Cities which went over well.
