Four Bands and Music Fans take to Star Central
|
Here we have a show that was booked for First Avenue main stage as a
Wednesday night showcase. With the closing situation at First Avenue
the show was relocated to Star Central. The bands 'Downside of Truth',
'Nuisance Crew', 'Long Term Disability' and '7 Months of Nothing' were
most certainly looking forward to playing the First Avenue main stage -
yet took well to the change in venue. An easy place to find as the Star
Central is located a short distance north of the Dinky Town area and
south of Hwy 694 on Central Avenue. A rather large music room with a
large stage, attached game room and corner tavern, along with a food
menu and plenty of free parking. Which all in all makes the venue a
rather solid place for an original band showcase. This evening was
mostly about the bands and the fans having a good time on a Wednesday
night as they also wait to see what becomes of First Avenue. All most
certainly hope Frist Avenue will reopen soon in some form while
retaining the historical role as a music and culture center in the Twin
Cities. Time for my milk and cookies?!
