It
be a sunday afternoon with an all ages show at Star Central brought
together by Cole Young of Tru Talent Music. He was able to get Final
Drive from Missouri to drop in for this one as they were on tour in the
area. Joining them were Likwid Blu, Far From Falling and Vain would
close it all out. A warm weather day for march helped filter in a fair
crowd mix for this gathering of bands. Likwid Blu took to the task of
kicking things off with a rock the crowd approach as Vince on vocals
and Justin on guitar worked the crowd and Erik lays back heavy on bass
which is all well timed with the percussion of Jodi at drums. A band
that keeps pressing forward with a recent solid 2nd place finish in a
Twin Cities Battle Slam contest and a number of songs that are popular
with fans. The second band up was Far From
Falling which have been stirring up the scene lately with a EP out
called 'The Color of Autumn' where one will find a great example of
their work in the song 'Circle takes the Square'. A song that well
displays the vocals of Valentin and the synth/samples of Jimmi. Those
on hand got a good dose of Final drive as they brought out a heavy
display for the crowd. Out of Missouri with a quick rise along the
national scene, Final Drive gave forth a great effort as finalist in
the MTV Battle for Ozzfest event. A short time before that event,
Chelsea Muckerman took over the bass for the band. Here at the Star
Central show she worked the bass with a flare and edge that added much
to the performance of the band. There was a well gathered crowd up
front to catch them in action with some intense interest in the band.

Jordan Gaw delivered a set of non stop vocals with his high energy
style that could be a difficult task for many singers to hold steady
for an entire set. They have a album out called 'Good things come to
those who refuse to wait'. The title well underscores the drive this
metal core band has to play the hardcore circuit all out and heavy with
no final show likely for quit some time.
