Metal and Humor mix at the Terminal Bar
|
At the
Terminal Bar on a saturday night in Mpls with a mix of metal and humor.
The evening brought forth an accoustic set by Jason and Amy of 'Great
Girls Blouse', comedians Shannon Thompson and Thomas Thompson, juggler
Dan Grinder, the metal sets of 'Suidice' from Eau Claire, Wisc. and
'Kronk' would close out the night. Its often good to get out and take
in an accoustic set where one can hear more of the delicate edges,
energy and silence cross paths. With 'Great Girls Blouse' minus a
drummer one was able to catch much of the flowing bass lines of Jason
and the poetic frantic energy style of Amy on guitar and vocals. The
Thompson comics, also referred to as T-Squared by Neil of 'Suidice',
provided some laugh lines, silence and hecklers to the evenings open
spaces. There was plenty of elbow room for the juggler as he filled the
space with moving objects and unexpected floor juggling moments. Metal,
metal - 'Suidice' and 'Kronk'. Perhaps 'Suidice' may be considered more
of a rap-core metal where as 'Kronk' falls more so in the heavy metal
arena. The guitar work of both bands tend to be the focus of the crowd
on hand. A nice mix of humor and music for this crowd fest hungry
saturday evening.
