A sunday night at the Triple Rock on the west bank mpls
area where we found APOX playing along with High Blue Star. As many may
know, APOX is the short form name for Apocalypse Theatre. APOX has a
number of members from show to show with Kamela, V , MadKat and a
number of regulars and guest performers which bring forth their set of
material that has been phrased as 'Pirate Rock'. A mix and blend of
Industrial, metal, goth and punk elements. At this show, Kamela
was the vocal force driving the APOX charge to the crowd with her all
out rock enchantress approach. Among their songs, there is the rather
catchy 'Burning Death Star' along with 'Disintigrate' and 'Painting in
Blood' to name a few. At one point, Laurie Reade of High Blue Star
joined in to take part in the APOX experience. In 2005
Laurie Reade did some additional vocals for the song "Wish me closer"
on The Last Dance album 'Once Beautiful'. High Blue Star is Laurie
Reade, Brian Green and Chris Hall and played before APOX . They bring
to stage a electronic mix with live instruments and the lounge like
vocal edge of Laurie Reade flows with the electronic soundscape. A must
see and hear experience along the shores of the alternative electronica.
