Easy Going Friday At the Urban Wild Life Club
|
Dropped by the Urban just in time to greet Nats of 'Shovlhed'
as they had just finished their set. 'Shovlhed' played an early set at
the 4th Street Station in St. Paul
and zipped across town to play the opening set at the
Urban. A rather new hard core band with about six gigs around town thus
far. At this show they had available a CD called Bootleg Demo 2004
which includes three songs : "Cut it Up", "Young, Rich and Beautiful"
and "Tragedy in South Dakota". They also now have a website up.
First time seeing 'Entropy' as they played the center slot of a three
band night. A hard core band that came across well at the Urban. Three
songs that are a good example of their work are "Addiction", "Lie Some
More" and "Children of Agony". Two bands that are surely able to put
forth a good time with the metal scene in and about the Twin Cities.
'Downside of Truth' took to stage with their hardy heavy metal set on
this easy going Friday. They do a good job of working the crowd on hand
as they play about town working to get their band name and stage image
known to the original music scene. Sounds like they are working on a
higher quality studio recording of some of their songs in their drive
to get radio play. Patrick of 93X radio often seems to be at these
Urban shows - taking in the local band scene and perhaps the local
wildlife scene.
