Bradly Dreis : The singer with Albuterol

Zin: So Bradley how are you doing this evening?
Brad: I am doing wonderful, thank you.

Zin: You are….well good. So are there any new projects you are working on?
Brad: No not really (laugh)

Zin: ohh really, I heard that you were just on tour with Sevendust, so how did that go?
Brad: yes that is correct, that went wonderful. Don’t try looking it up anywhere (laugh) because you’re not going to find it.

Zin: Because I read about it on this website out in California,
you were just out there to right?

Brad: It was actually seven bust (laugh) but they got the v and the b mixed up.

Zin:
So what were you doing out in California?

Brad: I was working with a band that I played with about four years ago, for fun, were just doing some recording, and we have a few shows coming up this summer that and I am just going to practice with them.

Zin:
So tell me about your band here in.

Brad: My band here in Minnesota is Albuterol based here right out of Saint Cloud. Umm I have been doing stuff since 96 off and on. I have been doing various other projects off and on. Albuterol has just kind of been like my thing that I have just always gone back to.
I have been working on it full time the past year. I have decided to make this my main focus. Other then spreading my self all over 50 different projects I just want to stick to one and have fun with it.

Zin: right on, right on.
I also hear that you run an internet web site, could you tell me about that?

Brad: I run an internet website called www.whatisdepressionlike.org  it is pretty much a place that people can go to, to post up there art work and stuff  I guess to help relate there experiences, maybe get some help from it to. It’s really a big art community for depression sufferers.

Zin: How long have you been running it for?
Brad: Probably for about a year and a half, its main push was probably last Julys when I really started working on it a lot, so yeah, I really have a lot of fun with that.

Zin: well good, good, can you tell me a little about what your future plains are with your music projects?
Brad: umm, lets see, like I said I have always worked on various side projects, I kind of want to take Albuterol, and take that with every thing that I have always wanted to do with music. I’m with the right people right now I think, that are willing to do that. And grow with me with our music and stuff. I just really want it to push me and see where it takes me. The sound might change a little bit, but that’s fine I think.

Zin: So would you agree or disagree with people that say you sound like Trent Reznor?
Brad: (laugh) I would disagree. ummm Trent Reznor dos not rock.

Zin: (laugh) like you?
Brad: no just period Trent Reznor just does not rock. (laugh)

Zin: ohh that’s nice
Brad: yeah

Zin:
So if I got to look at your cd player right now, what would you be listing to?

Brad: Probably Pantera…right now ,

Zin: or maybe Linkin Park?
Brad: or not Linkin Park (laugh)

Zin: ohhh…why wouldn’t you be listing to Linkin Park? They're great.
Brad:  ok they're kind of like in the opposite spectrum of Trent Reznor.
See Trent does not rock, but Linkin Park rocks …but a little to hard for me.

Zin: ohh
Brad: umm yeah, you see I have some medical conditions, where my heard can’t race that fast, and so Linkin Park is detrimental to my health (laugh)

Zin: So when’s the last time you where at a dentist?
Brad: umm that’s a very good question.

Zin: maybe you should go.(laugh)
Brad: (laugh) I don’t know how long it has been.

Zin: ohhh, how about the hospital?
Brad: ummm….it’s been a while to…what are you getting at?

Zin: ohh nothing, nothing. So do you like to go the library very much?
Brad: wow that’s another great question…(laugh) umm..yeah yeah I do.

Zin: yeah that’s great…so what interested you into making music to begin with?
Brad: I guess I just kind of did it, a while back in high school I just started..umm…well I was never into music but one summer I just got really in it, just listing to it just was not enough. The music that I liked, it seamed that nobody was really making it, so I just took myself, just to use my weird style and just did what I wanted to hear. It was just more so for me wanting to listen to wired stuff more then actually having anyone else I guess at the time…that’s that!

Zin: That’s That! Do you like to play video games at all?
Brad: ummm, I don’t really play video games to much, but when I do I  really enjoy it.

Zin: What kind of video games do you like playing?
Brad: I like playing Mickey Mouse..and Quack Attack…..my favorite color is red.

Zin:
ohh yeah…what is your favorite food?

Brad: My favorite food is actually the whole Italian bit. I just like the whole thing I guess.

Zin: Who do you feel about tacos?

Brad: Tacos are good,  I do like Mexican food…it’s probably me second choice of food.

Zin: What your favorite place to eat?
Brad: Well right now I like to go to Swaite D, yes its good food.

Zin:
What is your lease favorite?

Brad:..it’s this really expensive sloppy joe thing.

Zin:
Fantastic

Brad: no, not really (laugh)…unless you into that…then I suppose that would be..hmm

Zin: So how do you feel about the color red?
Brad:
Well as I stated earlier I like it.

Zin:
Why do you like it?

Brad: I guess I like it because it is aggressive, because it makes you look deeper into things.
Zin: So what are some of your favorite web sites right now?
Brad: Right now I would have to say subservient chicken.

Zin: Is that www.subserviantchicken.com ?
Brad: It is, it’s a guy that puts on a chicken custom. It’s very simple yet very fantastic once you get on it. And you basically just tell him what you want him to do, and he’ll do it. And I am still trying to figure out if it is actually a guy in a chicken suit or if it is just a program.
I recommend going on there.

Zin: and finding out?

Brad: yeas, and finding out, and getting back to me and letting me know. And I would also like to give a quick shot out to www.doodie.com they just have great little jokes and cartoons. You know what I mean, I don’t want to give out to much, I am just giving out props right now you know.

Zin: right, right, they should just check it out.
Brad: yes people should check out subservient chicken first then look at doddie and get back to me.

Zin: So is there anything that an interviewer never asks you, but you wish they did?
Brad: No, I think you got it with the favorite color thing. (laugh)

Zin:
ohh ok good, well could you tell me if you have any up coming shows or anything?

Brad: Well there will be one this Sunday (May 30) at the 4th street station the old lab,
I think our set is at 9pm. And there is 7th street this Wednesday the 2nd. People should check it out anyways because it is this All the Pretty Horses benefit…
no wait don’t put that!

Zin:
you said it …to bad!

Brad: (laugh) no, it’s not a benefit, it’s for there independent film that they made on them.

Zin: …are you still raising money for that car thing?
Brad: ohh you mean the Hurst? Yeah we are constantly earning money for it..and spending it…we just had to buy this army stretcher, we had to buy six new space suits..umm yeah…that ardently went in to your props fund, but we will get the Hurst and it will have a custom paint job. And we will have a car wash soon to raise money for that.

Zin:
Well keep us informed on that.

Brad: yes, yes

Zin: yes (laugh)
Brad: umm yeah this is more important then cancer research and anything else (laugh)

Zin: yes this goes higher then anything else right now that the us is doing...
is to get you a Hurst.

Brad: yes that is right, this has the utmost importance right now, fxxk every thing else!

Zin: umm oh I was going to ask you, if there is any new movies that you have gotten to see lately that you have enjoyed, like say any John Water’s movies?
Brad: yes I think I seen some flamingo movie, I don’t believe it was made that resent, but it was most excellent. It was a very touching family film.

Zin: Any other films?
Brad: I suppose Brigit goes to Hollywood. That was really good. It was about a midget that whose name is Brigit actually, who is trying to make it in the adult film world, and she do’s a good job at it. She has a few problems at the beginning where she signs a contract she shouldn’t have, but at the end she makes it in the big time. Yes, yes another family film.

Zin: umm ok.. thank you Brad for the interview.
and umm…yes go to the show…good day.
