 >  Jeff Phillips of Carrier Flux

Zin : Tell me a little about your self, and how your band was formed?
> My name is Jeff.  Carrier Flux didn't really form as a band since
it's been just me up until recently. It sort of came to be out of an
amalgamation of different musical ideas I'd had over time.

Zin : How would you describe the music you create?
> Emotive melodic black metal.

Zin : What are you trying to get across to people with your music?
> I'm not trying to communicate anything really, just trying to make
music reflecting my usual emotional states. I also put a lot of effort
into using a variety of sounds and styles to try and keep things from
 getting boring.

Zin : What are you talking about when you say ^Óit all comes together;
when we open our mind, open wounds will kiss me, dressed in blood
meet my god^Ô?
> Anterior copulation.

Zin : Are you working on any new material?
> I'm trying to complete the third album right now.  I no longer have a
record label, so when the material's done I'm going to shop it around.

Zin : How old were you when you discovered that you where capable
of being perfect in every way?
> There was never really any question about it.

Zin : What is your favorite TV show?
> I would have to say Family Guy.

Zin : Any new movies come out lately that you have enjoyed?
> The Dawn of the Dead remake ruled pretty well.  I've been crying
at the end of sappy movies like Big Fish and Whale Rider lately.
I think that's bad.

Zin : I heard threw the grape vine that you are writing music reviews
for MK magazine now a days, is this true?
> Yes ma'am. Hopefully I don't get too many death threats by doing so.

Zin : Do you like noodles or pizza better?
> What kind of question is this?  Is it a litmus test for sanity?

Zin : What is your favorite color?
> Black, of course

Zin : How tall are you in?
> how tall am I in what?  In 5.5 feet of water?  I'm 6 inches
in 5.5 feet of water.

Zin : Do you have any brothers or sisters?
> I have one sister, yeah.

Zin : Do you recall any funny stories of anything that happened
to you when you where between the ages of 7 and 10?
> I fell off my bike once when I was about 10 and I said "HELL!"
just before I hit the ground.  I had a potty mouth.

Zin : Have you been listing to any new bands lately?
> Not really any new bands, but a few bands newer albums.
What I've really gotten into lately are:
 Akercocke - Choronzon
 Windir - 1184, Arntor
Amduscia - Melodies for the Devil
Esoteric - Subconscious Dissolution into the Continuum
My Dying Bride - Songs of Darkness, Words of Hope

Zin : Are you a card carrying member of the foamy card cult?
> Uhm..I can't say I'm familiar.

Zin : Is there anything that you wish an interviewer would ask you,
 but they never do?
> I wish they'd ask me what I had for lunch.
