Five musicians gather in a small practice space in the Twin Cities working on new material for over a year as the band called Long Term Disability. The band began with Trevor on drums and the guitar work of Dave of Head Charge as they worked on material and reached out to find members that would bring together the L.T.D. sound and performance. Joining in their efforts would be Jason on bass and Don with guitar along with the vocals of Dodd. Jason has played with the bands Clockwise and Black Flood Diesel,  Don has played with Cromlech and many may know Dodd from his band Dodd. With their combined experience and good nature approach they have begun playing out sooner than planned with a quick gig at 7th Street Entry followed by an entry in the Battle of the Bands at the Rock in May which brought them out for the River Fest event. Their first planned show would be the following evening after this practice session at the Urban Wildlife Club in downtown Mpls on June 12th.  This was a solid practice session as they dug into their music with a clean and precise effort. We had a good friendly conversation before and after the session. Dave took a moment  to provide a comment, "Happy to be playing with other local musicians at gigs like RiverFest and glad to see our work as a band be noticed. We've spent a year working on a full length album and its a relief to finally have it almost ready." Don provided this insight, "Everyone has done what we're doing, but we approach it in a serious - unserious manner. It's got good songs, good singing, good leads, good perspectives." They're looking to focus on completing their full length album. Yet, they may find themselves out playing their brand of metal again before the CD is released. Have to watch and see what comes up for them as they move forward.
