Phelony's interrogation : THOUGHTCLOUD . . . . . Nov.7, 2004
Okay kids, and those that are irresponsible enough to be defined as
such, it's me the Phelon. This is my third write up with
rockwatch.org. Thanks to Phil for allowing such craziness (as in
allowing my opinions to be made public, what a risk!). So far, in my
short writing career I've done some write ups on a couple of harder
bands on the scene, and because of one of them in particular, DOWNSIDE
OF TRUTH, I stumbled apon a band that has the same intense emotion as
any hard-core band. THOUGHTCLOUD.
I did a quick interview back in July with DOT, and THOUGHTCLOUD was on the
bill. They distracted my focus from my original thought process and
I've been interested since. But, sometimes I get so wrapped up in life
I never get out and see alot of what I'm interested in. But I did make
good relations with this band through friends in common, and got to
hang out one hungover Sunday afternoon. I was running behind and a mess
of the previous night, but the members seemed to relate with my woes
with unjudging appreciation. I sat down and they were working on a new
song and I listened as they were able to ease my mind and relax. A
welcomed change in my day to day, and welcomed to see on the local
scene, I asked THOUGHTCLOUD a few questions, here's what they had to
say.............
MEMBERS :
Tony - drums Mike - bass Brett -
guitar/vocals Leah - vocals/toys Greg -
guitars
HOW AND WHEN :
Six years ago, AUG.1998 Leah, Tony and Brett started
thoughtcloud and changed members and sounds since their beggining.
After evolving with the additions of Mike on bass and Greg on guitar,
thoughtcloud is apprecitive of their new intense sound they have
achieved.
FAV BAND TO SEE :
Thoughtcloud as a whole look forward to seeing bands
like, "Drunk Drivers" from
Eau Claire,Wisc. and seeing shows by All The Pretty Horses, Gone
out Gone,
D.O.T., and Flithy Divine.
ROCKWATCH.ORG's ROLE :
Thoughtcloud thanks Phil's efforts and support of
the local scene, which helps all bands get exposure of their project. "Phil's like Christ without the baggage." -- Brett
FAV VENUE :
1st ave. ( PLEASE REOPEN!!!!! ), Star Central, the Rock, and the Main Event.
WORST GIG :
DIBBO'S ( nothing to do with the venue... ) Blame it on the
excessive alcohol to contribute to negative vibes, never pander the
fans for free drinks, always leads to psychotic episodes by bass
players. But other than that this band will still rock for 2 or 2000
people, all shows they give 100%!!!!!!!
BESIDES MUSIC :
Go to shows and support other bands when they can as a band.
FIVE YEAR GOAL :
Keep Leah out of nursing home,
but mostly to continue to write, play and perform their music.

McDONALDS :
Leah - drive thru. Mike - portray Gimmace and scare little kids.
Brett - corporate lab development executive. Tony - fries.
Greg who was not
present would be employed by PETA against the fascist corp.
money-mongers that is McDonald's.(we at rockwatch.org do not share the
views or opinions of PETA or Greg, neither does thoughtcloud.)
SHOULD PHIL RUN FOR PRESIDENT? :
"He would be better than Hilary!" - Leah.

Thats the thoughts of thoughcloud. Check out more of them at their
website and look for upcoming shows in the Mpls area after the
first of the year, as they are playing several out of town gigs. And
look for a live CD and dvd
available soon.
